How a message is handled before and after a stay is reserved

Which fields the form carries

The form asks how many nights are free, which stay is under consideration if one has been picked, roughly which month, whatever needs saying in the free text, and an address to answer. A box at the end has to be checked before it will send, and checking it means agreement with the terms of this page.

It asks for no card number, no passport or document number, no date of birth and no government identifier. None of that is needed to measure a drive or to hold a room, and none of it belongs in the free text either. If something of the kind arrives anyway, it is struck from the record and the sender is told what was removed.

One field in the form is a trap for automated senders. A note that arrives with it filled in is dropped before the rest is read.

Where a note goes after it is sent

The form does not post back to this site. The note is handed to a mail relay, which puts it in one mailbox that the office reads. Mail crosses machines belonging to neither the sender nor the office, the way all mail does, so a note is not a sealed envelope and should not be written as though it were.

Inside the office the note is read by whoever answers it. It is not handed on to anyone selling anything and it is not added to a mailing list of any kind. Where a question is answered and nothing is reserved, the thread is closed and the note goes with it, so a person who wrote once and then decided against the drive leaves no standing record here.

The form itself takes a note at any hour. Reading happens later, not as the note lands, and the reply times printed beside the form say how much later.

What a supplier is told once a stay is reserved

A reserved stay needs three things at the far end: who is coming, which nights, and one way to reach them. That much leaves the office. The note itself, the questions that came before it and anything written about places that were considered and set aside stay in the mailbox.

Money does not run through the office, so no card detail passes through it either. Each supplier bills whoever is staying, on its own terms, and keeps its own guest record under its own rules. Those rules are not set on this page and cannot be changed from here.

No script runs on these pages

These pages carry no script at all. The rules sent with every page forbid one from running, so nothing measures a visit, nothing follows a reader from page to page and no outside party is told that a page was opened.

Images, styles and fonts come from this site's own address and from nowhere else. No cookie is set, nothing is written into the browser's own storage, and a page opened again tomorrow starts blank, with no memory of the visit before it.

The host that serves the pages keeps its own record of requests, as every host does. It is not joined to anything sent through the form, and the office does not use it to work out who wrote.

Deleting a note, and what survives it

Anyone who wrote can ask what is still held and can ask for it to be deleted. Writing back from the same address is enough; naming the month and the place makes it quicker. The request is answered the way any other question is answered, inside the reply times printed beside the form.

Two limits are worth saying plainly. Deleting a note here does not undo a reservation, because the supplier holds its own record and has to be asked separately. And where a stay has been reserved, the office keeps what it needs to answer a question about that stay afterward: the nights, the place and the written offer that was agreed to.
